“Farm to Taste” with Chef Cindy
It's time for a power breakfast! Chef Cindy and her daughter, Rose Stein, prepare a tasty breakfast of potato crusted quiche with broccoli, banana nut muffins, kale salad and fruit. Yummy!
Chef Cindy and Rose start cooking from The Fat Chance Cookbook, a get it right, get it healthy cookbook that Cindy co-authored with Dr. Robert Lustig, a pediatric endocrinologist. They revisit the Vegetarian Chili while talking with special guest, Garry Pearson, the Harper Garden Coordinator from Davis, California. Garry brings examples of what's in their gardens, discussing strawberries and how they are grown in modern commercial farming.

Dominic Machi, director of food and nutrition services for Mt. Diablo Unified School District, also joins us (in the middle). Cindy taught at Mt. Diablo High School for over 10 years where she developed their foods, nutrition, and sustainability curriculum.
